An Inspirational Women’s March 2020 Near You

Women’s March 2020 is Saturday, January 18th at cities worldwide. Where will you march for women’s rights?

The Women’s March was organized in 2017 as a direct result of the United States’ presidential election outcome. This was a world-wide protest against the election of U.S. President Donald Trump. In the U.S., women marched in Washington, D.C. and other major cities to protest the newly elected president and all issues such as inadequate healthcare coverage, broken immigration policies, and protection of LGBTQ rights. Since then, it has become an annual event. Last year, I attended the Women’s March in Stockton, California. This year, I will attend the Women’s March in Sacramento, California, our state’s capital.

We’re heading to Sacramento, California for the Women’s March

My daughter and I are looking forward to joining other advocates for equality. We’ll start at 8:00AM with the Women of Color Contingent hosted by NorCal Resist, Sacramento Take Back The Night, Poor People’s Campaign, and Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) California Capital Chapter.

From there, we’ll march together to Southside Park to meet the Women’s March which begins at 9:00AM. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in solidarity for equality. Personally, I’m eager to listen and learn. At events like this there can be many voices, all equally important. I want to be sure my ears and heart are open to it all.

Can I say that I’m so excited my Vote Like A Mother shirt arrived in time to wear it Saturday! Have you checked them out before? Cool stuff!

See you at the march!
