Family Visit To Greensburg, PA

Traveling across the country with our family was fun! For a quick weekend, our family traveled to Greensburg, PA to celebrate our daughter’s college graduation.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Greensburg. I love Holiday Inns! I found they are most affordable, very clean and comfortable, and their free breakfasts are delicious! This Holiday Inn is conveniently near the college as well as shopping and dining areas.

We celebrated Devina’s graduation with wonderful dinner at Robokyo Restaurant. Their hibachi cooking was entertaining and the food was delicious!

Tips for traveling with family

Our planning started early. I covered most of how we planned this trip on a previous post, Planning Our Family Travel From California to Pennsylvania. Usually, what we plan in theory doesn’t work out in practice. But this time, I was pleasantly surprised that most everything worked out! I have to give credit to calling ahead to ensure reservations and details were set. This not only confirmed what we needed but it put me at ease.

Patience, patience, and more patience. We had 10 people in our traveling party from different every age ranges, from 70’s to 4 years old. That’s a lot of different personalities to accommodate! We even had a fun conversation about our generational names! Someone didn’t want to admit they were a Boomer. Isn’t that such a Boomer thing to do?! Through the fast-paced weekend, having patience to go with the flow was very helpful.

Family travel and lifelong memories

We were fortunate to save up for this special occasion. Celebrating a college graduation is a first for our family. I just had to have all of us there! Experiencing Greensburg, Pennsylvania for the weekend was wonderful. I’m looking forward to more family trips!
