This is where I found information for Napa Valley’s Latino Heritage Month “Honoring Our Braceros”. If you plan to be in wine country, why not visit the Mexican wineries listed here in the article “Meet the Latino Winemakers of Napa Valley” written by Yara Simón for Remezcla.
I’m excited to share the 19th Annual San Francisco Latino Film Festival has a wonderful line up of features, shorts, and documentaries. Personally, I’m excited for the screening of Doña Diabla starring Maria Felix and Mexican Spitfire Sees a Ghost starring Lupe Velez! This free screening is shown in partnership with the San Francisco Public Library to highlight contributions these women made during the Golden Age of Hollywood.
While in San Francisco, you can’t miss an opportunity to take a self-guided walking tour of the iconic Mission District with this map Calle 24 Cuentos del Barrio Self-Guided Walking Tour Brochure (San Francisco)!

I did find another event, although not named in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, it fits the theme and time frame. You won’t want to miss The San Joaquin Tamale Festival, a 2-day family event to celebrate California cuisine! It’s held on Saturday, October 14th and Sunday, October 15th from 12 noon – 8:00 PM both days at the San Joaquin Fair Grounds 1658 S. Airport Way, Stockton CA.
