When I started to invest in myself, I experienced real change in my mindset and determination. 2019 was an incredible year of events and workshops! Here’s a list of where I invested in myself this year.
Wealth Empowerment Summit opens my eyes to various investment strategies. I wrote so many notes! Following through with some of the advice given on this day helped me grow my wealth. I’m eager to find more events like these in the Central Valley!

An exciting investment for me this year was a VIP Day with Natasha Miller of Medical Momprenuer! Natasha guided me step-by-step to start my business within the medical coding field.

AAPC Healthcon is an investment in my career in the Revenue Cycle. I look forward to this conference to grow professionally! This year, I added a course to learn Six Sigma Project Management. I earned my White and Yellow belts! AAPC HealthCon 2020 will be in Orlando, Florida.
El Concilio Latina Leadership Luncheon was an investment in myself and Latina community. I was inspired to press on and pursue my passions!

We All Grow Summit is a must-make investment to fuel my passion for storytelling. Connecting with like-minded Latinas, learning how to recognize my spirituality, moving with purpose, all this and goodies to bring home too! Above all, I left motivated to share more inspiring stories of Latinas in the Central Valley.

WordPress Camp in Sacramento was a surprise highlight for the year! I learned so much and gained the confidence I needed to continue building my blog.

LTX Fest 2019 was an investment to learn more about trends in tech. I was so happy to hear from our 43rd U.S. Treasurer, Rosa Rios! She encouraged us to be “action figures” as we move up in our careers.

Lean In Latinas 4th Annual Conference was another must-make investment in my career and passion to inspire Latinas in the Revenue Cycle. I was motivated to do my part to support equal pay for Latinas, encourage mentorship and sponsorship, and build our Latinas in Healthcare circle.

RAWW stands for Real Authentic Women Wellness. I attended the No. 5 Talk which spoke on connecting to our spirituality. Hearing from Dari Luna and Ana Flores, I learned our life’s path cannot be predicted nor “planned to a T”. However, when we listen to our intuition we are lead to where we are meant to be. It was a perfect way to align all I had learned in 2019, all the events and workshops, with my inner self.

Good Health, Good Leaders hosted by Professional Business Women of California was a last minute event I decided to invested in. I thought this was a great way to learn how our healthcare leaders prioritize their health. I’m looking to incorporate these tips next year!

How to find events in your area
Facebook is a common site to keep watch for events. You can search events based on location and dates. You might consider joining a Facebook group based on your interests to receive event notices.
Another great site to use is Eventbrite. After setting up a profile, you can follow organizations as well as individual organizers to be notified of future events.
Activate Your Vision Workshop
I’m hosting my first workshop of 2020 on January 26th. Activate Your Vision will help you set realistic action steps to achieve your vision. We are taking vision boards to the next level! Email to reserve your seat at sofia@howshedoesit.net.
How will you invest in yourself?
We can’t grow without learning. We can’t truly learn without interaction. Find a workshop, conference, or live webinar which you can interact with others while learning!
Did you invest in yourself this year? Which ways will you invest in yourself next year? I’d love to hear from you!
